Managing Connectors

After you have set up a connection to your scanner, you can use these instructions to help you manage it.

Perform a Run for a Connector

Only administrators can perform connector runs. This type of run performs an incremental connector run that picks up changes that have occurred since the last run was performed.

  1. Click the Connectors tab.
  2. On the Connectors page, hover over the name of the connector that you want to do a run for.
  3. Click Run

Perform a Full Run for a Connector

Only administrators can perform full connector runs. This type of run performs a full run which ingests all data from the connector.

You can perform full runs on the following connectors: QualysGuard Vulnerability Management, QualysWAS, Veracode, Tenable.io, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, InsightVM, and ServiceNow CMDB. 

  1. Click the Connectors tab.
  2. On the Connectors page, hover over the name of the connector that you want to edit.
  3. Click Full Run
  4. In the pop-up message, enter the information that you are prompted for in the text field.
  5. Click Full Run.

Edit a Connector

Only administrators can edit a connector.

  1. Click the Connectors tab.
  2. On the Connectors page, hover over the name of the connector that you want to edit.
  3. Click the Edit button (pencil-edit-button.jpg).
  4. Make your edits.
  5. Click Save.

Delete a Connector

Only administrators can delete a connector.

  1. Click the Connectors tab.
  2. On the Connectors page, hover over the name of the connector that you want to delete.
  3. Click the Delete button (trash-can-delete-icon.jpg).
  4. In the Delete Connector pop-up message, click Delete.
    Note: Deleting a connector will delete all vulnerabilities that were found by the connector. For more information about what happens when you delete a connector, refer to the article here.

FAQs

What is the difference between a “run” and a “full connector run”?

A “run" performs an incremental connector run that picks up changes that have occurred since the last run was performed.

A “full connector run” ingests all data from the connector even if you’ve recently performed a run.
